Welcome to the Tax Calculator ("the Service"), operated by Roadish.uk. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our free self-employed tax calculator and Universal Credit calculator.

2. Information We Collect

Bank Statement Data: When you upload a bank statement (PDF), the file is temporarily processed on our server to extract transaction data for tax or Universal Credit calculations. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after processing and are not stored permanently.

Session Data: We use server sessions to maintain your calculation state during your visit. Session data is automatically deleted after expiry (typically 120 minutes).

No Account Required: We do not require registration, and we do not collect personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To parse and categorise your bank transactions for tax or UC calculations
  • To calculate your Income Tax, National Insurance, or Universal Credit entitlement
  • To display results and allow export of your calculation

4. Data Storage & Retention

Uploaded statement files are deleted immediately after parsing. Calculation results are stored in browser sessions and are not retained on our servers after your session expires. No data is shared with third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare Turnstile: Used for bot protection. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Sheets API: Used only for the Personal Universal Credit Income Report feature (taxcalculator.test domain only). No personal data is sent.

6. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Server files are protected by standard filesystem permissions. We do not store sensitive financial data beyond the duration of your calculation.

7. Cookies

Essential session cookies are used to maintain your calculation state. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
